Friday’s Rainbow 6 Mandatory Payout Offers $350,000 Guaranteed Pool

Multi-Race Bet Unsolved for 16th Day to Set Up Lucrative Opportunity

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Bettors will be provided a lucrative opportunity at Gulfstream Park Friday, when a mandatory payout of a $350,000 guaranteed pool for the 20-cent Rainbow 6 pool is scheduled.

The Popular multi-race wager went unsolved for the 16th straight racing day Thursday, when no one had all six winners and bettors with five of six winners were paid $1,835.22.

There were four ‘live’ tickets going into the last leg of Thursday’s Rainbow 6 with No. 5 Rich Daddy, No. 8 Starship Zorro, No. 9 Giant Cat and No. 11 Forall the Marbles all eligible to produce a $194,842.34 jackpot payoff with a victory in the eighth race.

Starship Zorro made a strong outside move in the stretch, only to be edged out in a photo finish by a rail-skimming No. 10 Lovers Quay.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

On Friday, a bettor doesn’t necessarily have to hold a unique ticket with all six winners to grab a share of the mandatory carryover pool. All bettors holding tickets with the most winners in the six-race sequence will share in the entire pool that day.

Friday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 4-9, with five of the six races scheduled to be contested on turf. Races 4 and 5 are maiden events slated to be run at five furlongs on grass. Race 6, a six-furlong $12,500 claiming event on the main track, will be followed by three races scheduled for turf, including a conditioned claimer at 1 1/16 miles, a 7 ½-furlong maiden special weight test, and a 1 1/16-mile $12,500 claiming race that attracted a 14-horse field and two also-eligibles.

Thursday’s 50-cent Pick 5 paid $25,570.90 for five-of-five winners, while the Super Hi 5 paid off $450.40 on the first three finishers, creating a $2702.81 carryover for Friday’s card.
