HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Harold Queen’s Sheer Drama is training forwardly at Gulfstream Park for a scheduled start in the $750,000 Personal Ensign Invitational (G1) at Saratoga on Aug. 29.

“She’s getting better and better all the time. Every time I run her, she comes out of the race as good as she went into it,” trainer David Fawkes said. “She’s not doing anything wrong. She’s eating good, training excellent. I can’t say enough about her.”

The 5-year-old daughter of Burning Roma has blossomed into an elite graded-stakes performer this season, capturing the Royal Delta (G2) at Gulfstream in March before finishing second in the La Troienne (G1) and Fleur de Lis (G2) at Churchill Downs in the spring and winning the Delaware Handicap (G1) July 18.

The full sister to 2010 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner and Eclipse champion Big Drama turned in a bullet five-furlong breeze in 59.31 seconds at Gulfstream Wednesday.

“She’s going to breeze next here Thursday and then leave Friday or Saturday for Saratoga,” Fawkes said.

Fawkes unveiled a future star at Gulfstream on Aug. 2, when first-time starter Tribal Drama registered a sharp front-running 5 ¾-length triumph. The 2-year-old colt is by Big Drama, whom Fawkes trained throughout his brilliant career.

“We expected him to run like that. He’d been training really great,” Fawkes said.

Hallmarc Racing’s Tribal Drama is being pointed to the $300,000 Affirmed, the second leg of the Florida Sire Stakes series at Gulfstream on Sept. 5.

Saturday’s Fourth Race a Tribute to Late Chartcaller Chuck Streva

The memory of longtime South Florida chartcaller and handicapper Chuck Streva will be honored at Gulfstream Park Saturday. A year’s remembrance will be marked with the naming of the fourth race in honor of the late Equibase chartcaller and Miami Herald handicapper. Streva’s family and friends will be on hand for the post-race presentation.

Streva grew up in racing, following in the footsteps of his late uncle Jack Wilson, a longtime employee of the Daily Racing Form who was the official chartcaller for the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup for many years, and his late grandfather Dave Wilson, the legendary New England and Florida handicapper.
