Mandatory Payouts for Saturday’s Closing Day Program
MIAMI GARDENS, FL – One lucky bettor collected Gulfstream Park West’s 20-cent Rainbow 6 jackpot of $105,293.70 when Colorado Daydream captured Friday’s 11th race finale.
Sent off at 9-1 and ridden by Rafael Hernandez for his third winner of the day, Colorado Daydream was one of six horses in the 12-horse field eligible to take down the jackpot, which was last hit for $75,095.52 on Nov. 8.
The single unique ticket holding the winning 1-2-8-3-3-6 combination was purchased in Lewiston, Maine, where a $179,140.46 jackpot was also hit on Jan. 14 during the 2014-15 Championship Meet.
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Gulfstream Park West closes its two-month Fall Turf Festival on Saturday with Juvenile Showcase Day and mandatory payouts on the Rainbow 6 and 50-cent Pick 5. There will also be a mandatory payout of the rolling Super Hi 5 if there is a carryover into the 11th race finale.
First race post time is noon.
On tap Saturday are six $75,000 stakes for 2-year-olds including the six-furlong House Party (race 2) for fillies, the one-mile Smooth Air (race 4) and the Pulpit (race 5), the latter going one mile on turf.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span races 6-11 and include the day’s final three stakes, Wait a While (race 7) for fillies on turf, the Buffalo Man (race 8) at six furlongs and the Hut Hut (race 10) for fillies at one mile. The Pick 5 will cover races 7-11.
