Kiaran McLaughlin, winning trainer of Sentiero Italia (No. 4): "You never know with a short field, but Joel [Rosario] rode her great. He saved a little ground the first turn and waited. We were angling out and I knew that we were going to finish strong. I had a lot of confidence in her; she was doing great. She's a very talented filly and has a big kick, so it worked out very well today."
"She had a rough trip last time and ran into Lady Eli, who's the best of this group by quite a ways. We were the only one that ran further than her that day. We were in the way outside post. Today worked out great. We'll go forward from here, maybe the Queen Elizabeth at Keeneland or something in between, but this is a big win and we'll soak this up for a little while before we find the next spot."
Joel Rosario, winning jockey aboard Sentiero Italia (No. 4): "I thought I was going to be a little closer, but I ended up further back but she was happy where she was. When I was turning for home, she has a good turn of foot and she just kept on going after that."
"I just looked at the inside and watched what they were going to do. It looked like the 2 horse was going to take the lead and the other horse was third. I just let them work it out through the first turn. I ended up a little bit behind, but she was fine there."
Jimmy Bell, racing manager of Godolphin Stable, owner of Sentiero Italia (No. 4): "She's a lovely, big athletic filly. Plenty of scope and size to her. She's put on a little weight since her last race out at Belmont [Grade 1 Belmont Oaks] but [Medaglia d'Oro's] will do that a little bit, and she's not only got the size but is a very, very balanced filly. Very athletic, a lovely shoulder to her, and probably more than anything, a fantastic disposition. Not a thing in the world bothers her or turns a hair and when you put the physical ability with their mental toughness, which she has, she's a cool customer. Very nice, with a small field today, obviously Joel [Rosario] had a very good ride. He was patient, stayed behind and bided his time and she has a very good kick to her. She's got all the credentials, versatility, very good mind and a lovely body."
