Statement from Mitchell Etess, CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority

“Today marks an important milestone in our efforts to bring a spectacular destination resort to the city of Revere. Mohegan Sun is proud to have earned the strong support from Revere and our surrounding communities, and we are honored to call this city home.

Mohegan Sun Massachusetts is the best project with the best team in the best location in the Commonwealth. Our project will build on the great history of Revere and establish a new visitor economy for the entire region. Just as important, Mohegan Sun Massachusetts will create thousands of new jobs, deliver tens of millions of dollars to local businesses, and generate more revenue than any other casino proposed for this state. During the coming weeks and months, we will continue to work hard to show the Gaming Commission that the license for a resort casino in Region A belongs in one place and one place only: Revere.”

Statement from Kevin Brown, Chairman of the Mohegan Tribe “Today the City of Revere sent a strong message about how important an opportunity Mohegan Sun Massachusetts is: to this city; to its workforce; to its families; and to its future. This community also sent the message that values and community matter, and we are honored to be a part of this wonderful city, today and into the future.

Mohegan Sun knows how to be successful in New England and we are the best choice for the gaming license in this region. Our project is ready to build, and it will not only generate thousands of new jobs and new opportunities for area businesses, but it will improve traffic flow and complement tourism in the region.”
