By the Moon Wins Bed o' Roses Handicap at Belmont Park

Belmont Park in Elmont, New York played host to the $150,000 Grade 3 Bed o' Roses Handicap on Saturday, June 25 - a seven furlong dirt test for fillies and mares four years old and upward. Jay Em Ess Stable homebred, 2-1 second choice By the Moon came on late and bested the bunch in the stretch to earn the 1 3/4 length win in the field of six. Last year's Twinspires Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint winner, even money favorite Wavell Avenue finished a disappointing second while 4-1 third choice Bar of Gold got in for third. Mayla, Pangburn and West Coast Chick completed the order of finish.
