Masochistic Wins Pat O'Brien Stakes at Del Mar Race Track

A disappointing field of just three took to the track Saturday, August 27 at Del Mar Race Track in Del Mar, California to contest the $200,000 Grade 2 Pat O'Brien Stakes - a seven furlong dirt test for horses three years old and upward. Despite the small field the winner still gained an automatic berth into the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile. That winner was Los Pollos Hermanos Racing and Jay Em Ess Stable's 1-5 race favorite Masochistic who made it look easy in near track record time - by 3 3/4 lengths. Vyjack finished second at 5-2 odds with 7-1 shot Indexical third, another 7 1/2 lengths back. Outside Nashville and Cautious Giant scratched.
