Hunt Wins Eddie Read Stakes at Del Mar

Del Mar racetrack in Del Mar California played host to the $250,000 G2 Eddie Read Stakes on Saturday, July 22. Horses three years old and upward took to Del Mar's turf track and raced 1 1/8 miles. Michael House's Irish bred 3-1 second choice Hunt overcame some trouble and prevailed by a length for his first graded stakes score. 3-5 favorite Ashleyluvssugar finished second and 19-1 shot Mr. Roary faded slightly but settled for third. Kenjisstorm was fourth in the field of seven while Up With the Birds, Wanstead Gardens, and Abbey Vale completed the order of finish.
