Sadler's Joy Wins Pan American Stakes at Gulfstream Park

The $200,000 G2 Pan American Stakes was contested Saturday, April 1 at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida - a 1 1/2 mile turf test for horses four years old and upward. Woodslane Farm's homebred, 7-1 shot Sadler's Joy finally broke through after a number of close calls, came on late at the wire and prevailed in the field of eight. 12-1 longshot Designed for War finished a good second with 7-2 third choice Patterson Cross getting in for third. 3-1 favorite Taghleeb finished a disappointing fourth while Reporting Star, Snag, Montclair and second choice Mr Maybe completed the order of finish.
