San Onofre Wins Los Angeles Stakes at Los Alamitos Race Course
Los Alamitos Race Course in Los Alamitos, California was the scene of the $100,000 Grade 3 Los Angeles Stakes on Saturday, April 16, a 5 1/2 furlong dash for horses three years old and upward. It was Matson Racing's 5-2 second choice San Onofre that improved on a runner-up finish in this race last year and proved best on the day in the field of just five, eeking out a win over 11-10 favorite Wild Dude. 6-1 shot Raised a Secret finished third while Yiannis, who was sent off at 2-1 odds and Sir Kip completed the order of finish.
