Abel Tasman Wins Coaching Club American Oaks at Del Mar

Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York played host to the $300,000 G1 Coaching Club American Oaks on Sunday, July 23. Three-year-old fillies took to Saratoga's dirt track and raced 1 1/8 miles. 4-5 favorite Abel Tasman did what most expected and earned her third consecutive G1 victory. 5-1 third choice Elate made a strong bid but had to settle for second while 5-2 second choice Salty finished third another 3 1/4 lengths back. Berned was fourth in the field of seven while Daddys Lil Darling, Summer Luck, and Corporate Queen completed the order of finish.
