Las Vegas, NV -- The Grade 2 Hutcheson Stakes takes place on Saturday, February 11th on a packed day of horse betting action at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. A very competitive field of six three-year-olds will race seven furlongs for the $150,000 purse. The Hutcheson Stakes is the 8th race on the program with a Post Time of 3:49 PM ET.

The Hutcheson acts as an early prep race for the upcoming $1 million Florida Derby next month. Needless to say, there is a lot on the line. Speed is the name of the game in this race - a sprint shootout is guaranteed as the three-year-olds try to make names for themselves ahead of some bigger events to come later this year.

Thunder Moccasin - Thunder Moccasin won his only career start at Gulfstream - a Maiden Special Weight on December 24th. Thunder Moccasin is largely unproven but is a threat from post 3.

Il Villano - has five career starts including a third last time out at the Count Fleet Stakes at Aqueduct and before that a win at the Southampton Stakes at Parx in December. In five career starts overall, Il Villano has three wins, a second and a third.

Wildcat Creek - moves over from Tampa Bay Downs after a pair of second place finishes - the Pasco Stakes and the Inaugural Stakes. A look at his career racing summary isn't all that impressive however - six starts, one win and only two seconds.

Quick Wit - has raced almost exclusively at Gulfstream Park and had a first and a second in a pair of Maiden Special Weight races in January.

Tarpy's Goal - Tarpy's goal won an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Gulfstream on January 21st - this after an 8th place finish at another Allowance optional Claiming on January 16th.
