2014 Holy Bull Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Cairo Prince - has three career starts for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin - two wins and a thrilling second last time out to Honor Code in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct November 30. He won the Grade 2 Nashua River Stakes on that same track four weeks earlier and also had a MSW score in his debut at Belmont Park. Cairo Prince is a head away from being undefeated and is one of the favorites for Saturday's race.

Mr Speaker - Shug McGaughey trained colt has looked terrific in his last two starts - last time out was a win in the Grade 3 Dania Beach Stakes here on December 21. Before that was a MSW score at Belmont Park in October. He has gotten better every time out and is another one to watch Saturday.

Coup de Grace - Chad Brown trained colt is 2-for-2 so far in his young career. Last time out was an Allowance Optional Claiming score in gate-to-wire fashion on this track December 15 after a maiden win in his debut at Aqueduct November 9.

Holy Bull Stakes 2014 | Remaining Contenders

Almost Famous - has won two of three career starts for trainer Patrick Byrne - an Allowance Optional Claiming by six lengths at this distance on this surface last time out at Churchill Downs November 9 and a MSW in his career debut at Churchill Downs in September. His other career result was a fourth in the Street Sense Stakes October 27.

Wicked Strong - is coming off a respectable third behind Honor Code and Cairo Prince in the Grade 2 Remsen but had a MSW score before that at Belmont Park. He has placed in all three career starts and could be a threat Saturday.

Conquest Titan - has run in some big races with less-than-stellar results - a thirteenth in the Breeders' Cup Futurity and a fifth in the Grade 1 Dixiana Breeders' Futurity. He is coming off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Churchill Downs November 30 and he also had a win in the Swynford Stakes at Woodbine in August. Conquest Titan is a tough one to figure out.

Intense Holiday - Todd Pletcher trained colt has placed in just one of five career starts - a MSW score four back at Monmouth Park. He has since started three graded stakes races with a fifth in the Grade 1 Champaign Stakes at Belmont Park October 5, a fourth in the Grade 2 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct November 3 and another fourth last time out in the Grade 2 Remsen.

Financial Mogul - is coming off a very respectable second in the Grade 2 Nashua Stakes at Aqueduct November 3 after an OK fourth in the Grade 2 Futurity Stakes at Belmont Park September 29 and a MSW score in her second career start. He will be looking to take the next step Saturday and win for the first time in graded stakes company. Financial Mogul has looked OK recently and could be a surprise Saturday.

Best Plan Yet - had not been worse than second in five of six career starts before an ugly ninth last time out in the Gulfstream Derby here January 1. Before that his only off the board finish came in his debut at Calder in June. He had a two race win streak this fall - the Florida Stallion In Reality Stakes October 12 and the Foolish Pleasure Stakes in September - both at Calder after a second in the Florida Stallion Affirmed Stakes and a MSW score. Best Plan yet has yet to race in graded stakes company and will be looking to avenge a career worst performance Saturday.

Our Caravan - will race for just the second time but was impressive in his only career start - a MSW score on this track December 14.

Big Bazinga - shipped in from Woodbine and finished seventh in the Grade 3 Delta Downs Jackpot November 23 after two good career starts. They were a second in the Grade 3 Grey Stakes October 6 after a MSW score September 8.
