2014 La Prevoyante Handicap Race Favorite Entries

Irish Mission - Canada's top 3-year-old filly in 2012 has come on of late - a win in the Grade 3 Glens Falls Stakes at Saratoga August 31 was followed by a good third in the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes. Last time out was a bit of a hiccup however - a last of eleven in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint. Before those results were a second in the Grade 3 Matchmaker Stakes at Monmouth Park in July, a second in the minor Belmont Gold Cup and a respectable third in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes May 24. Irish Million looks for a strong bounceback as she drops in class this week and she leaves from gate 12 as the 120 pound highweight with the legend John Velazquez guiding her.

Tabreed - British bred Christophe Clement trained mare finished second in the 2013 Grade 3 Long Island Handicap - a race she ran in 2014 as well finishing fifth on November 8. After eight months away she finished eighth in the Grade 3 Modesty Handicap at Arlington in July and followed that with a pair of thirds - in an Allowance Optional Claiming August 15 and in the minor Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon Stakes September 24 before the fifth last time out. Tabreed has 16 career starts with three wins, three seconds and six third place finishes and looks for her first stakes score with Joe Bravo in the saddle from the rail.

Maximova - Christophe Clement trained filly has 10 career starts with four wins, a second and two third place finishes. She is coming off a respectable third in the Grade 3 Long Island Handicap at Aqueduct November 8 after a sixth in the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes at Belmont Park October 12. Before that was an Allowance Optional Claiming score and a third in a similar race at Saratoga this past summer. Maximova has been a tad inconsistent but off a decent race last time out could be a factor Saturday. Irad Ortiz rides from post 4.

Always Kitten - Michael Maker trained filly has 20 career starts with three wins, three seconds and two third place finishes - a win and a third place finish in seven starts this year. She is coming off a fourth in the minor Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon September 24 after a seventh in the minor Fasig-Tipton Waya Stakes in August and a decent third in the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park in July. She did win the minor Jersey Lilly Stakes at Sam Houston in March but has placed in just one of her last five starts overall. Javier Castellano will get the call from gate 5.

Julie's Love - H Graham Motion trained mare has four starts in 2014 - a good third last time out in the Grade 3 Maple Leaf Stakes at Woodbine followed a tenth in the Grade 3 Athenia Stakes at Belmont Park in October, an OK third in the Grade 3 Noble Damsel Stakes September 13 and a fifth in the minor Powder Break Stakes at Gulfstream in April. She ended 2013 with a fourth in the Grade 2 Matchmaker Stakes July 28, a good second in the Grade 2 Dance Smartly Stakes at Woodbine July 7 and a fourth in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes in May of last year. Julie's Love has 28 career starts with five wins, eight seconds and six third place finishes but looks for her first win since May, 2013 - in the minor Owsley Stakes at Belmont Park. Julien Leparoux rides from gate 7.

Photo Call - Graham Motion trained Irish bred filly has six career starts with two wins, a second and two third place finishes. She won her only start in North America - an Allowance at Keeneland by 3 1/2 lengths October 24 and will be looking to keep that roll going. She steps into stakes company for the first time with Rafael Manuel Hernandez in the irons of this intriguing entry from post 3.

Clearbrook - Chad Brown trained filly has nine starts this year with two wins and three second place finishes. She enters off an ugly tenth in the Grade 3 My Charmer Handicap at Gulfstream Park West November 22 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Belmont Park October 8, a fifth in a similar race September 1 and three straight third place finishes - the best of which came in the Grade 3 Orchid Stakes in March. She races in stakes company for the third time Saturday looking for a strong breakthrough. Luis Contreras has the mount from post 2.

Honey Lake - Victoria Oliver trained filly will race in graded stakes company for just the second time - the first coming last time out - a thirteenth in the Grade 3 Cardinal Handicap at Churchill Downs November 22. This after an Allowance score at Keeneland in October and an eighth in the Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon in September. Corey Lanerie will be in charge of getting Honey Lake's first stakes win - from gate 6.

She has three wins and two third place finishes in 11 career starts and makes her graded stakes debut Saturday with Luis Saez in the irons from gate 8.

Premium - Kiaran McLaughlin trained British bred filly has nine career starts with two wins, a second and a third place finish. She has five starts in America - an Allowance score in her debut being the best result - back in May at Belmont Park. She enters off a third and a second respectively in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races and looks OK for her graded stakes debut. Leandro Goncalves gets the call from post 9 Saturday.

Angegreen - started her career in Italy where she had three wins and a pair of seconds in five starts - one of the seconds coming in the Group 1 Oaks d'Italia in April, 2012. Her move to North America hasn't been great however - she has placed in just three of 12 starts here. Last time out was a twelfth in the Grade 3 Cardinal handicap at Churchill Downs November 22 which followed an OK third in the minor Kentucky Downs Ladies Marathon September 24 and five straight off the board finishes including sixth place finishes in both the Grade 3 Robert G. Dick Memorial in July and the Grade 3 Bewitch Stakes in April. She did have second place finishes in the 2012 Grade 3 The Very One Stakes and Grade 3 Orchid Stakes but hasn't been great since. Paco Lopez will be in the saddle from post 10 hoping to change Angegreen's fortunes around.

Modernstone - European import has raced predominantly on synthetic surfaces in England. She has failed to place in six North American starts for trainer Bill Mott - consecutive sevenths including in the Grade 3 Maple Leaf Stakes followed a tenth in the Robert G. Dick Memorial in July, a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in June and a sixth in the Grade 2 Sheepshead Bay Stakes in May. Last time out was a tenth in the Grade 3 Red Carpet Handicap at Del Mar November 22. She has three wins, four seconds and a third place finish in 16 career starts and looks to finally make some noise on North American soil. Jose Lezcano will be in the irons from post 13.

Auld Alliance - Irish bred Graham Motion trained filly has 12 career starts with two wins, two seconds and three third place finishes. She enters off a seventh in the Grade 3 Long Island Handicap at Aqueduct November 8 after a ninth in the minor Kentucky Downs Ladies marathon September 24, a third in the minor Flaming Page Stakes at Woodbine in August and a pair of sevenths - in the Grade 3 Robert G Dick Memorial in July and the minor Belmont Gold Cup Invitational in June. She hasn't been great lately but hopes to turn things around Saturday - with Gabriel Saez in the irons from the outside post.
