2014 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Stonetastic - has seven career starts for trainer Kelly Breen with three wins, a second and a third place finish. She enters on a nice two race win streak - by an impressive 8 1/2 lengths in wire-to-wire fashion in the Grade 2 Prioress Stakes at Saratoga August 30 and an Allowance Optional Claiming by 6 3/4 lengths in July. They followed a pair of thirds - the minor Ginger Brew Stakes in January and the Grade 2 Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs in November. Stonetastic has been competitive in every career start and should be again Saturday after posting a field-best 105 Beyer Speed Figure last time out. Paco Lopez gets the call from post 5.

R Free Roll - four time stakes winner enters this week on a terrific three race win streak - the last being the Grade 2 Honorable Miss Handicap by 1 1/2 lengths in front running style at Saratoga July 28 and the others being minor stakes action - the U Can Do It Handicap in May and the Hollywood Beach Stakes in April. She has even wins, five seconds and two third place finishes in 17 career starts and has placed in her last five start overall. R Free Roll looks to keep the roll going from post 3 with Mike Smith aboard.

Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes 2014 | Remaining Contenders

Leigh Court - 2013 Sovereign Award winner as Canada's Champion 3 Year Old Filly was terrific last year winning three straight races in the summer including the Grade 3 Ontario Colleen Stakes at Woodbine in August. She ended her 2013 campaign with a somewhat disappointing fourth in the Grade 1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup and was forced out of action for over 10 months. Leigh Court made a successful return to the track August 24 and won the Grade 3 Seaway Stakes by 2 1/2 lengths at Woodbine in her only start of 2014. Leigh Court has won four of her last five starts overall and hopes to keep the roll going in only her second start this year. Gary Boulanger rides from post 2.

Southern Honey - George Arnold trained filly has seven career starts with three wins, a second and a third place finish. She enters off a third in the Grade 2 Prioress Stakes at Saratoga August 30 which followed an ugly ninth in the Grade 1 Test Stakes and a nice three race win streak including her stakes debut - the Grade 3 Winning Colors Stakes at Churchill Downs May 26. Before that was an Allowance Optional Claiming score in May and a maiden victory in April. Southern Honey looks to get back in the win column with Julien Leparoux in the saddle from post 6.

Northern Passion won the Grade 3 Natalma Stakes in September, 2011 and has since recorded three minor stakes scores but has been inconsistent to say the least. Patrick Husbands gets the call from gate 4 as Northern Passion looks to place in her first race in her last three starts.
