2014 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Bobby's Kitten - Chad Brown trained colt has four wins (two at this distance) and two third place finishes in eight career starts and is coming off an ugly eighth in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational July 5 as he weakened and looked as though distance was an issue. He also had a brutal performance three back - a twelfth in the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland in April. In between those results are a win in the minor Penn Mile Stakes May 31 and an Allowance score in March. Bobby's Kitten did finish a respectable third as favorite in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf so we know he can run with the best - he also won the Grade 3 Pilgrim at Belmont by 6 ¼ lengths before the Breeders' Cup try. Javier Castellano will be in the saddle as Bobby's Kitten cuts back to a more comfortable distance from gate 7.

Wallyanna - Michael Pino trained colt has three wins in five career starts - three straight victories this spring including the minor James W. Murphy Stakes at Pimlico May 17. That streak was snapped last time out by a fourth in the minor Centaur Stakes at Indiana Grand race Course July 2. He steps into graded stakes company for the first time Friday looking very competitive with Irad Ortiz rides from post 3.

So Lonesome - experienced Thomas Bush trained gelding makes his ninth career start on Friday after eight starts yielded three wins, a second and two third place finishes. Last time out was a third in the minor Manila Stakes at Belmont Park June 28 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score on turf in May and two unflattering graded stakes results - a seventh in the Grade 1 Blue Grass and a ninth in the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes. He did win the minor Virgo Libra Stakes in November so we know he can run from the front. So Lonesome enters in so-so form with José Lezcano in the irons from post 4.

Long On Value - started his career with three straight wins for trainer Bill Mott including a pair of minor stakes races - the Jamestown Stakes at Colonial Downs and the Strike Your Colors Stakes at Delaware Park - both last July. He went through a slight rough patch - an OK third in March in the minor Fred Cappy Capossela Stakes followed a fourth in the Grade 3 Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream February 1, a sixth in the Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park in October and another sixth in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga in September before rebounding in his last two starts - a second last time out in the minor Manila Stakes June 28 followed another second in the Grade 3 Arlington Classic at this distance in May. He has three wins, two seconds and a third place finish in 10 career starts and is looking OK ahead of Friday's race. John Velazquez rides from gate 5 looking for Long On Value's first graded stakes win.

Bashart - Christophe Clement trained colt has six career starts and is coming off two unflattering results - a fifth last time out in the minor Manila Stakes at Belmont Park June 28 (his only start this year) followed a sixth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. Before that was an OK second in the Grade 2 Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland October 6 and career defining win in the Grade 2 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga August 29. He also had a MSW score August 18 in his first try on grass. Bashart leaves from gate 6 looking to get back on winning terms with Joel Rosario in the reins.

Give No Quarter - H Graham Motion trained colt has five career starts with two wins, a second and a third place finish and is coming off an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Belmont Park July 6 - his only start this year and his first race since November. His only stakes action came in October - a disappointing DNF in the Grade 3 Grey Stakes at Woodbine. Give No Quarter hopes to maintain an upward trend from the rail with Rajiv Maragh aboard.

Matterhorn - Main Track Only Todd Pletcher trained colt races for the first time since an eighth at the Belmont Stakes June 7. He made his stakes debut May 10 and finished an OK fourth in the Grade 2 Peter Pan Stakes after three career starts yielded a win and a third place finish. He was third against older entries in an Allowance at Aqueduct March 28 after a distant tenth in an Allowance Optional Claiming in February and a maiden score at first asking November 16. He may start from post 2 with Joe Bravo aboard Friday.
