2015 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf Race Favorite Entries

Legatissimo 8-5 - Irish bred David Wachman trained filly has placed in eight of 10 career starts with five wins over that span. She has finished no worse than second in her last six starts overall with four wins - two straight stakes wins at home ahead of this race including the Group 1 Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes in Ireland and the Group 1 Nassau Stakes in England. She also won the May 3 Group 1 QIPCO 1000 Guineas in England. Legatissimo makes her North American debut this week looking like the one to catch. Ryan Moore has been tabbed to ride the morning line favorite from post 3.

Miss France 6-1 - Irish bred Andre Fabre trained filly makes her North American debut Saturday having posted four straight runner up finishes including the Group 2 Qatar Prix Daniel Wildenstein October 3 in France and the Group 1 Prix Rothschild August 3 also in France. Her last win came in May, 2014 - a stakes win at Newmarket. She now has three wins and four seconds in 10 career starts and looks decent ahead of this weekend. Miss France looks to break a case of "second-itis" Saturday and could do that with Lanfrance Dettori aboard from post 9.

Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf 2015 | Remaining Contenders

Dacita 8-1 - Chilean champion, Chad Brown trained filly has nine career starts at home with six wins, a second and a third place finish and won three of her last four starts before shipping including three Group 1 races. She continued her impressive run last time out in her North American debut with a win in the Grade 2 Ballston Spa Stakes at Saratoga August 29. Dacita has been impressive indeed and has shown good form against top company. She looks for a third straight win Saturday when she leaves from gate 8 with Javier Castellano in the reins.

Secret Gesture 8-1 - British bred mare finished fifth in this race last year and has just three starts since - a Group 2 win at York in May, a fourth at Curragh in June and an OK third last time out after getting DQ'd from first in the Grade 1 Beverly D Stakes at Arlington August 15. She has placed in six of her last eight starts overall and looks decent ahead of this weekend. Florent Geroux gets the call from the outside post 12.

Hard Not to Like 10-1 - Christophe Clement trained mare had been very good in 2015 before an eighth last time out in the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes at Santa Anita September 26. Before that was a win, a second and a third place finish in three starts - a win in the Grade 1 Gamely Stakes at Santa Anita May 25 followed a third in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley Stakes in April and a second after getting DQ'd from first in the Grade 3 Endeavour Stakes in January. Hard Not to Like ended her 2014 campaign way back in April with a win in the Grade 1 Jenny Wiley and also had an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Gulfstream in February, 2014. She has raced only six times in the last 18 months but has three wins, a second and a third place finish over that span. John Velazquez will be in the irons looking for a career defining win and a strong bounce back - from the rail.

Photo Call 12-1 - Irish bred Graham Motion trained filly has four wins, two seconds and four third place finishes in 13 career starts and enters on a nice two race win streak - the Grade 1 Rodeo Drive Stakes at Santa Anita September 26 and the Grade 3 Violet Stakes at Monmouth Park August 29. Before that was a third in the minor Perfect Sting Stakes at Belmont Park in July and a tenth in the Grade 1 Just a Game Stakes in June. Photo Call enters in career best form and will depart from post 5 with Drayden Van Dyke in the saddle.

Queen's Jewel 12-1 - lightly raced British bred filly makes her North American debut Saturday having failed to show up in her last two starts in France - a ninth in the Group 1 Prix de l'Opera Longines October 4 and an eleventh in the Group 1 Prix de l'Opera Longines June 14. Before that was a great win in the Group 1 Pour Moi Coolmore Prix Saint-Alary at Longchamp in May and a win in the Group 3 Prix Penelope at Saint Cloud in April - so we know she can run. Queen's Jewel looks to snap an ugly skid Saturday when she departs from gate 6 with Maxime Guyon guiding her.
