Feathered - Todd Pletcher trained filly has nine career starts with two wins, three seconds and a third place finish. She enters off a good second behind Spanish Queen in the Grade 1 American Oaks May 30 on Santa Anita turf after a career best effort - a gate-to-wire win in the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes at this distance at Churchill Downs May 1 in her first start on turf. Those results followed an ugly seventh in the Grade 3 Fantasy Stakes April 4, a fourth in an Allowance in March and a second behind champion Take Charge Brandi in the Grade 1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos in December. She also had a respectable fourth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies. Feathered has placed in her last two starts overall after a brief slump and hopes to continue the upward trend from gate 10 with Luis Saez in the reins of the top weight and lone graded stakes winner in the field.

Lady Zuzu - has a win, a second and three third place finishes in nine career starts for trainer D Wayne Lukas but enters off a career worst effort - a twelfth in the Grade 1 Belmont Oaks Invitational after setting a furious pace and fading July 4. Before that was a decent second in the Grade 3 Regret Stakes at Churchill Downs May 13 and a pair of thirds in stakes action - the minor Hilltop Stakes May 15 and the Grade 3 Edgewood Stakes May 1. Lady Zuzu looked good before last time out and will be looking for a strong bounce back Friday. Corey Lanerie has been tabbed to ride from gate 8.
