National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes 2015 at Saratoga Race Course

Las Vegas, NV - Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York will host to the Grade 2 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes on Friday, August 7. Three year olds will be featured when they take to Saratoga's turf track and race 1 1/16 miles searching for the winner's share of the $200,000 purse.

An overflow field of 12 plus one Alternate Entry and two Main Track Only Entries have been confirmed for the Hall of Fame Stakes - race 9 on Saratoga's Friday schedule. Post time is 5:29 PM. Let's take a peek into the past performances of all 15 possible combatants for this Grade 2 stakes.

2015 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes Race Favorite Entries

Night Prowler 3-1 - won the Grade 3 Dania Beach Stakes at Gulfstream Park four starts back on January 3 and followed that with a somewhat disappointing fifth as favorite in the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes on that same track March 7. Last time out was a respectable second after leading most of the way in the Grade 3 Penn Mile which followed a nice win in the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes at Keeneland April 15. He also had an OK third in the minor Pulpit Stakes at Gulfstream Park West November 29 and a maiden score at Belmont Park October 17. Night Prowler has been a tad up and down in his short career but has two wins and a second place finish in his last four graded stakes starts. World Approval 4-1 - Mark Casse trained gelding has three wins and two second place finishes in seven career starts and is coming off his best career result - a good win in the Grade 3 American Derby at Arlington July 11. Before that was a fourth in the minor Pennine Ridge Stakes in May, a third in the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs in May and a win in the restricted Sophomore Turf Stakes in April. He has won three of his five starts this year and has looked good every time out. Lose Lezcano has been tabbed with keeping that trend going from the rail.

Takeover Target 5-1 - Chad Brown trained colt makes his fifth career start Saturday having recorded two wins and a second place finish so far. He made his graded stakes debut last time out and finished a somewhat disappointing fifth in the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes Invitational after a second behind Divisidero in the minor Pennine Ridge Stakes May 30 and consecutive scores to start his career - all results at Belmont. Takeover Target looks for a strong bounceback effort Friday when he leaves from gate 2 with Irad Ortiz aboard.

Startup Nation 6-1 - Chad Brown trained colt is coming off consecutive thirds - in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational July 4 and in the minor Pennine Ridge Stakes May 30. Those results followed a disappointing eleventh in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf and a fourth in the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont Park September 28. He did win the Grade 2 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga in August but hasn't tasted victory since. The legendary John Velazquez has been tabbed to get Startup Nation back in the winner's circle - from post 3 Friday.

A Lot 6-1 - Bill Mott trained colt has three wins and three seconds in eight career starts. He has looked good this year in alternating wins and runner-up finishes in his five starts this year. Last time out was a second in the minor Manila Stakes July 12 which followed a win in the minor Paradise Creek Stables Stakes May 23, a second ahead of World Approval in the Grade 2 American Turf Stakes May 2, an Allowance Optional Claiming score in February and a second in the Grade 3 Dania Beach Stakes in January. A Lot looks for his first graded stakes score Friday and could get it based on his recent from. Junior Alvarado has the mount from post 9.

Vision Perfect 12-1 - has three wins, a second and a third place finish in five career starts and enters on a two-race win streak - both minor stakes races. Last time out was in the Woodhaven Stakes at Aqueduct April 18 after the Awad Stakes at Belmont Park in October. He had a runner-up finish in his only graded stakes action to date - the Grade 3 Pilgrim Stakes in September at Belmont Park. Vision Perfect has been competitive every time out and hopes for a first graded stakes score Friday from post 7 with Manuel Franco in the saddle.

High Noon Rider 12-1 - George Weaver trained colt has nine career starts with two wins, a second and two third place finishes. He enters off a disappointing sixth in the Grade 3 Penn Mile which followed one of his wins- an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream April 9, a second in the minor Cutler Bay Stakes April 1, a fourth in the minor Islamorada Handicap in March and a DNF in the Grade 2 Holy Bull Stakes in January - all results at Gulfstream. He hopes for his first stakes score Friday when he departs from post 10 with Luis Saez guiding him.

Croninthebarbarian 15-1 - Chad Brown trained colt won the minor Kentucky Downs Juvenile back in September and has been decent since, placing in six of his last seven starts without a win over that span. Last time out was a third in the minor Manila Stakes July 12 which followed a second behind A Lot in the minor Paradise Creek Stakes May 23, an eighth in the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes in March and consecutive thirds including the Grade 3 Dania Beach Stakes in January. Courtier 15-1 - Bill Mott trained colt makes his graded stakes debut Friday. He failed to place in his first two starts but has looked good in the last three overall. Last time out was a second in his stakes debut - the minor Kitten's Joy Stakes at Gulfstream way back on January 24 after two straight wins - the best of which was an Allowance score in October at Churchill Downs. Courtier will be after his first stakes score when he departs from post 11 in his first start in six months with Joel Rosario in the reins.

Winter Springs 15-1 - French bred Chad Brown trained colt has three wins and three seconds in nine career starts. He finished second last time out - his North American debut and was second in a stakes in Europe in his last start overseas. Winter Springs looks for his first stakes win and enters in so-so form from gate 8 with Julien Leparoux guiding him.

Sailthehighseas 20-1 - Brad Cox trained colt will race in stakes company for the first time Friday on the heel of two straight wins - an Allowance at Ellis Park July 3 and a maiden score at Churchill Downs in June. He has two wins and a third place finish in four career starts and could be in tough in his huge step up in competition. Shaun Bridgmohan has the call from gate 6.

Gorgeous Bird 30-1 - Ian Wilkes trained colt has two wins in seven career starts but has failed to place in his last four overall. He enters off three straight sixth place finishes - the minor Long Branch Stakes July 11, an Allowance Optional Claiming June 12 and the Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes in February. He looks to hit the board in stakes company for the first time - from the outside post 12 with Jose Ortiz in the reins.

Pleasant Outlook 30-1 - Alternate Entry has won three straight races since consecutive fifths in his first two career starts. He may make his stakes debut off consecutive Allowance scores at Presque Isle Downs.

Good Luck Gus 7-2 - Main Track Only entry has three wins and three second place finishes. He has two minor stake scores including the minor Damon Runyon Stakes on this track in December and the New York Breeders' Futurity in October but was a somewhat disappointing fourth last time out in the minor New York Derby.

Juan and Bina 5-2 - Main Track Only entry has a win, a second and a third place finish in six career starts. Last time out was a third in the Grade 3 Carry Back Stakes July 15 after failing to place in his previous two graded stakes starts. Juan and Bina has placed in just one of his last four starts.
