2016 Chandelier Stakes Preview, Entries & Odds

American Cleopatra 7-2 - highly regarded Bob Baffert trained filly (full sister to American Pharoah) has two career starts - the first was a good one - a 5 1/2 furlong maiden score by two lengths July 31. Last time out was a decent stakes debut - a second in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante September 3. She will be after her first stakes score Saturday having been in every race so far. Stewart Elliot gets the call on the tepid morning line favorite from post 5.
Champagne Room 4-1 - has a win and a second and a third place finish in three career starts for trainer Peter Eurton. Last time out was an OK third, a nose behind American Cleopatra in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes September 3 which followed an uber-successful stakes debut - a win by 1 1/4 lengths in the Grade 2 Sorrento Stakes at Del Mar August 6. Her career debut resulted in a second place finish here July 16. Champagne Room has been a factor in every race so far and hopes to keep it going from post 3 Saturday. Mike Smith rides the morning line second choice.

With Honors 9-2 - impressive Keith Desormeaux trained filly has won both of her starts so far - last time out in the minor Del Mar Juvenile Fillies Turf Stakes September 5 and a win on that track at first asking July 29. She hasn't been touched so far and hopes to keep the roll going from the rail. Flavien Prat gets the call on the co-third choice.
Zapperkat 9-2 - Richard Baltas trained filly looked good in her only career start - a maiden score by an impressive 5 1/4 lengths with a nice 97 Beyer Speed Figure at Del Mar August 20. She takes an enormous leap up in competition Saturday when she leaves from gate 4 with Norberto Arroyo aboard the other co-morning line third choice.
Noted and Quoted 6-1 - has just one win in three career starts for trainer Bob Baffert. She was fourth in her debut July 16, broke maiden August 7 and was most recently fourth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante - all results at Del Mar. She will need a special effort Saturday in order to contend - Rafael Bejarano hopes to deliver that from gate 2.
Mistressofthenight 10-1 - has just one career starts for trainer Richard Baltas - a third at Del Mar September 3. She takes an enormous step up in competition looking as if she may be in over her head - from gate 8 with Kent Desormeaux in the irons.
Lake Time 10-1 - has two career starts for trainer Eric Kruljak - one win and a second place finish. She makes her stakes debut Saturday off a maiden score at Del Mar September 30 after a second in her debut on that track August 7. Lake Time has shown improvement and will be out to make a little noise from gate 10 Saturday. Gary Stevens is scheduled to ride.
Bizka 12-1 - Has been good so far in her two career starts - two wins. Last time out was in the minor Barretts Debutante Stakes by an impressive 5 1/4 lengths at Los Alamitos September 17 and before that was in a Maiden Claiming by 4 1/4 lengths at Del Mar August 25. Bizka hasn't been touched so far and hopes to keep the streak going from gate 6 with Tyler Baze in the reins at an intriguing 12-1 odds.
Princess Coco 15-1 - Keith Desormeaux trained filly has a win and a third place finish in her three career starts. The win came last time out at Del Mar September 3. That result followed a third on that track in July and a fourth in her debut in June. Princess Coco has improved every time out and will be out to keep that trend going from post 9. Victor Espinoza has the mount.
Nikki My Darling 30-1 - has just one win in three career starts for trainer Dean Greenman. She was sixth in the minor Miss Ohio Stakes in her debut in July, posted a maiden score August 1 and a fourth last time out in the minor Tah Dah Stakes at Belterra Park August 27. Nikki May Darling hasn't been all that impressive so far but hopes to change all of that around from post 11. Drayden Van Dyke will be in the reins.
Demigoddess 50-1 - has five starts already for trainer Charles Stutts with two third place finishes to show for it. She makes her graded stakes debut Saturday off a third in a MSW at Los Alamitos September 23, a sixth in a similar race August 28 and an OK third in the minor Landulace Stakes on this track in July. Demigoddess looks for her first career win from the outside gate 12 Saturday. Brandon Boulanger gets the call.
Datz a Violation 50-1 - won her debut for trainer Dean Greenman at Thistletown in July but finished sixth last time out in a Starter Optional Claiming at Del Mar September 2. He takes a huge step up in competition off a pretty bad effort. Martin Pedroza has been tabbed with righting the ship from post 7.
