OffTrackBetting.com - The G3 Gotham Stakes comes our way this Saturday, March 4 from Aqueduct Racetrack in South Ozone Park, New York. A purse of $300,000 and Kentucky Derby points to the top four finishers on a 50-20-10-5 scale will be on the line for three year olds willing to go 1 1/16 miles on Aqueduct's dirt track.

A field of 10 have been confirmed for the Gotham Stakes - race 8 on Aqueduct's Saturday schedule. Post time is 4:50 PM. Here is a peek into the past performances of all 10 combatants for this intriguing and important Road to the Kentucky Derby G3 stakes.

2017 Gotham Stakes Entries at Aqueduct Racetrack

El Areeb - Cathal Lynch trained colt has four wins and a second place finish in his six career stars. He enters on a terrific four race win streak by a combined 30 lengths - the G3 Withers Stakes by 4 1/2 lengths here last time out February 4, the G3 Jerome Stakes by an incredible 11 1/4 lengths on this track January 2, the minor James F. Lewis III Stakes at Laurel Park November 19 and a maiden score on that track October 15. El Areeb is on a serious streak, has looked terrific in training, is a legitimate Derby contender and will be after a third straight graded stakes score Saturday - with Trevor McCarthy in the saddle of the only graded stakes winner in the field and obvious favorite from gate 4.

True Timber - has a win, a second and a third place finish in four career starts for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. He enters off a decent second to El Areeb in the G3 Withers Stakes here February 4 which followed a respectable third place finish in the G3 Jerome Stakes on this track January 2, a maiden score by 1 1/2 lengths here December 10 and a fifth in his debut - also here November 19. True Timber has been OK and will be out to flip the script on El Areeb Saturday with Kendrick Carmouche aboard from gate 6.

Cloud Computing - highly regarded colt will hit the track for just the second time for trainer Chad Brown having posted a nice win in his only career start - on this track February 11. He looked good in that race and hopes to keep the momentum going from post 9 Saturday. Manuel Franco will be in the reins.

Action Everyday - Todd Pletcher trained colt has two career starts and two good wins. He makes his stakes debut Saturday off an impressive Allowance Optional Claiming score January 27 which followed a maiden win at first asking December 23 - both results at Tampa Bay. Action Everyday hasn't been touched so far and hopes to continue that trend Saturday in his major step up in competition. Rajiv Maragh has been tabbed to ride from the outside gate 10.

So Conflated - has two wins and a third place finish in his three career starts for trainer Doug O'Neill. He makes his graded stakes debut Saturday off a nice win in the minor California Derby at Golden Gate January 21 and a maiden score on this track December 26. He was third in his debut at Del Mar December 3. So Conflated has been competitive every time out and hopes to be again in his step up in competition Saturday. Mario Gutierrez has been scheduled to ride from gate 8.

J Boys Echo - will hit the track for the fifth time for trainer Dale Romans having posted a win, a second and a third place finish so far. He stepped into stakes company for the first time two starts back and finished fourth in the G3 $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot November 19 and most recently finished third in the G3 Withers Stakes on this track February 4. He started his career with an impressive 5 1/2 length maiden score at Keeneland October 2 and a second in his debut - at Churchill Downs October 2. J Boys Echo has been decent so far and will be out to make some noise from the rail Saturday. Robby Albarado has the mount.

Apartfromthecrowd - has four career starts for trainer Chad Brown with a win and a third place finish. He finally broke maiden two starts back - here in January but followed that with a somewhat disappointing fifth last time out in the G3 Withers Stakes also on this track. He started his career with a third in a MSW on this track December 2 and a fourth in his debut in September. Apartfromthecrowd has been up and down in his career and will be out for a career-defining performance from post 7 Saturday with Jorge Vargas guiding him.

Miggsy - Rudy Rodriguez trained colt has three career starts with a win and a pair of runner-up finishes. He makes his stakes debut Saturday having finally broken maiden last time out - February 5 and having posted consecutive seconds in his first two starts - all results on this track. Miggsy steps up in decent form and will have Angel Arroyo in the reins from post 3.

Glennrichment - has just one runner-up finish in his three career starts for trainer Rudy Rodriguez - that coming last time out on this track February 5. He started his career with a fifth and an eighth in MSW races on the East Coast. Glennrichment has improved but still looks as though he will be in over his head from post 5 Saturday. Eric Cancel rides.

Gaetano - has 10 career starts already for trainer Guadalupe Preciado with two wins, two seconds and a third place finish. He makes his stakes debut Saturday off a Starter Allowance score February 7 , a fourth and a fifth respectively in a pair of Allowance Optional Claiming races and a Maiden Claiming score November 28 - all at Parx. He has been OK so far against lesser competition but takes a huge step up in competition Saturday. Cornelio Velasquez gets the call on the longest shot in the field from gate 2.
