2017 Champagne Stakes Entries at Belmont Park

Kowboy Karma

Has three career starts for trainer Larry Jones - two wins and a second-place finish. He enters off an OK second as favorite in the listed Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park September 2 which followed a 2 1/2 length win in the minor Strike Your Colors Stakes at Delaware Park August 10 and a 12-length maiden score at first asking - also at Delaware Park July 19. Kowboy Karma has been a factor every time out and looks good ahead of his graded stakes debut. Alex Cintron has been tabbed to ride from the rail.

Aveenu Malcainu

Has two career starts for trainer Jeremiah Englehart with two good wins against state-breds. He steps into graded stakes company for the first time Saturday off a good 2 1/2 length win in the minor Funny Cide Stakes at Saratoga August 25 with a field-best 98 BRIS Speed Figure. It followed a maiden score at first asking - on that track July 28. Aveenu Malcainu hasn't been touched so far and will be out to keep an impressive start to his career going. Firenze Fire

Jason Servis trained colt has three career starts and two nice wins. Last time out was a bit of a step back - a fourth in the G1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga September 4. It followed a very good step up into stakes company - a one length win at 12-1 in the G3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga July 22 and a 3 1/2 length maiden score at Monmouth Park at first asking - June 18. Firenze Fire was terrific in his first two starts but hopes for a strong bounce back off a bit of a dud last time out. Irad Ortiz will try to accomplish that goal on the only graded stakes winner in the field - from the outside gate 12.

Enticed

Has just one career start for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin and it was a good one - a 1 3/4 length maiden score at Saratoga September 4. Enticed looked good in his only career start and hopes to be again in his step up Saturday with Junior Alvarado in the irons from gate 4.

Stronger

Eric Guillot trained colt has one win in his two career starts. He was fourth in his debut at Gulfstream July 23 and broke maiden by 6 1/2 lengths last time out - on that track August 27. Stronger has gotten stronger and hopes to build on a pretty nice effort from post 3. Manuel Franco gets the call.

Honorable Treasure

Bahamian
