2017 Honey Fox Stakes Entries at Gulfstream Park

Celestine - defending champion in this race - Christophe Clement trained filly has seven wins, two seconds and two third place finishes in 15 career starts. She had a nice four race win streak in the summer of 2015 - the minor Wild Applause Stakes, the minor Wait a While Stakes in May (both results at Belmont Park) and the minor Sanibel Island Stakes in March on this track. She had another two race win streak last year including the G1 Just a Game Stakes June 11 at Belmont Park and in wire-to-wire fashion by 3 1/4 lengths in the G2 Honey Fox Stakes. Last time out was another nice win as favorite in the local prep for this race on this track - the minor Sand Springs Stakes by two lengths March 5 which followed a disappointing twelfth in the Breeders' Cup Turf Spring and a third in the G1 First Lady Stakes at Keeneland October 8. Celestine has placed in 11 of her last 13 starts, has looked great in training ahead of this weekend and will be the one to catch this weekend. Jose Ortiz has the mount from post 5.

Linda - has placed in seven of eight career starts for trainer Ian Wilkes - three wins, three seconds and a third place finish. Last time out was a career best effort - a win by 2 1/2 lengths in the G2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs November 24 which followed a respectable runner-up finish in the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes at Keeneland in October, an Allowance score at Kentucky Downs, a maiden score at Ellis Park July 31 and a pair of runner-up finishes in MSW races early in the summer. Linda has been a factor in every race in her career and will chase a second straight graded stakes score from the outside post 7 Saturday. Julien Leparoux is scheduled to ride the only other graded stakes winner in the field.

Lori's Store - multiple stakes winner has seven wins, four seconds and five third place finishes in 30 career starts for trainer Martin Wolfson. She finished seventh in this race in 2015 and has mostly been up and down since. Last time out was a third behind Celestine in the minor Sand Springs Stakes here March 4 which followed seven months away, a fifth in the minor Soaring Softly Stakes in August, a fourth in the minor Spook Express Stakes in July and a nice win in the 2016 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf. She has been OK in the past and will be after a first graded stakes score - first win overall in 14 months from the rail Saturday. Javier Castellano rides.

Mississippi Delta - defending runner-up in this race - Mark Casse trained filly has six wins, two seconds and a third place finishes in 16 career starts but has looked pedestrian in the other seven. She enters off an Allowance Optional Claiming score here February 24 which followed a pair of disappointing results - a twelfth in the G3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes at Keeneland in October and a tenth in the G1 First Lady Stakes on that track October 8. Before that was a good win in the minor Kentucky Downs Ladies Sprint September 10, an OK third in the G3 Royal North Stakes at Woodbine July 31 and a fourth in the minor Perfect Sting Stakes July 2 at Belmont Park. She also posted consecutive runner up finishes in graded stakes action at this time last year - in the G2 Nassau Stakes May 29 and in the G2 Honey Fox Stakes. Mississippi Delta slumped at the end of 2016 but snapped that skid last time out and will try for a first graded stakes score from gate 6. Jose Lezcano will be in the reins.

Inside Out - Martin Wolfson trained mare has three wins, three seconds and a third place finish in 14 career starts. She has three graded stakes starts and has failed to place in any - a fifth in the G3 Robert G. Dick Memorial at Delaware Park in July, a seventh in the G3 Rampart Stakes on this track in December and a fifth three starts back in the G3 Marshua's River Stakes here January 14. Last time out was an OK second behind Mississippi Delta in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track February 24 after a seventh in a similar race here February 4. Inside Out hasn't been all that impressive but hopes to change her fortunes around from post 3 Saturday. Paco Lopez gets the call.

Josdesanimaux - multiple stakes winning Ralph Nicks trained mare has 15 career starts with five wins, a second and a third place finish. Last time out was a third behind Mississippi Delta and Inside Out in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track February 24 which followed a nice win in the minor Panama City Stakes here in October and four straight off-the-board finishes in stakes action including a seventh in the G3 Royal North Stakes in July, a fourth in the G3 Mint Julep Stakes in June and a fifth in the G3 Gallorette Handicap last May. Josdesanimaux shoots for a first graded stakes score Saturday in OK recent form. John Velazquez will be in the saddle from gate 4.

Dad's Princess - Patrick Biancone trained mare has just two wins, two seconds and seven third place finishes in 21 career starts. Last time out was a second in an Allowance here March 12 after a sixth in a similar race on this track January 26, a fifth in the minor Via Borghese Stakes here December 31 and a third in the G3 My Charmer Handicap at Gulfstream Park West in November. She failed to place in her other two graded stakes starts back in 2014. Dad's Princess tries for a first ever stakes score and enters in so-so form. Luis Saez has been tabbed to ride from gate 2.
