2017 Cotillion Stakes Entries at Parx Racing

Abel Tasman 8-5

The clear-cut leader of the Three-Year-Old Division with the absence of Unique Bella will race for the tenth time for trainer Bob Baffert having won six times and posted two second place finishes in her career already. Last time out was a good win in the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga July 23 after another nice win in the G1 Acorn Stakes with career and field-best BRIS Speed rating of 103 at Belmont Park June 10, a good last-to-first 1 1/4 length win with a tidy 92 Beyer Speed Figure in the $1 million G1 Kentucky Oaks May 5 and another win in her stakes debut - the G1 Starlet Stakes at Los Alamitos December 10. Before that were two straight respectable second place finishes - the G1 Santa Anita Oaks April 8 and behind Unique Bella in the G3 Santa Ysabel Stakes March 4. Abel Tasman has six wins and two runner-up finishes in her last eight starts overall, she hopes for a fourth straight G1 score Sunday. She will have Mike Smith in the saddle of the obvious morning line favorite from post 11.

It Tiz Well 4-1

Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly has placed in eight of nine career starts - four wins, two seconds and two third-place finishes. She arrives off a respectable second in the competitive G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19 after a good win in the G3 Delaware Oaks July 8, a fourth in the G3 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita June 17, a decent third behind Abel Tasman in the G1 Santa Anita Oaks April 8 and a solid win in the G3 Honeybee Stakes at Oaklawn Park March 11. Before that was a 3 3/4 length Allowance Optional Claiming score February 3 and a respectable second in her stakes debut - the G2 Santa Ysabel Stakes at Santa Anita January 8. It Tiz Well has been a factor every time out and hopes to keep a decent run going Saturday with Drayden Van Dyke in the irons of the second betting choice from gate 4.

Salty 5-1

Will race for the eighth time for trainer Mark Casse having posted two wins, two seconds and two third-place finishes so far. She broke maiden by 2 1/2 lengths March 5 at Gulfstream and has since recorded a nice win by 4 1/4 lengths in the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks April 1, a fifth in the Kentucky Oaks May 5, a respectable runner-up finish behind Abel Tasman in the G1 Acorn Stakes at Belmont Park June 10, an OK third behind Able Tasman again in the G1 Coaching Club American Oaks at Saratoga July 23 and a third last time out in the G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19. Salty has been good so far but hopes to snap a four-race losing streak from the outside gate 12 Saturday. Tyler Gaffalione has the mount on the morning line co-third choice.

Actress 5-1

Jason Servis trained filly has a win, two seconds and a third-place finish in her five career starts. She arrives off a fourth in the G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19 after a third in the G3 Delaware Oaks July 8, a terrific win after trailing by as much as 19 lengths in the G2 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes at Pimlico May 19 and consecutive seconds to start her career - the best of which coming in the minor Game Face Stakes at Gulfstream Park April 22. Actress has been competitive so far and will chase her second graded stakes score from gate 2 Saturday. Kendrick Carmouche rides the other co-third choice.

Lockdown 8-1

Legendary trainer Bill Mott sends out Lockdown who has two wins, three seconds and a third-place finish in her seven career starts. She enters off a career-worst effort - a sixth in the G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19. Before that was an OK second behind Unchained Melody in the G2 Mother Goose Stakes at Belmont Park July 1, a third in the G1 Kentucky Oaks May 5, a respectable second behind Miss Sky Warrior in the G2 Gazelle Stakes at Aqueduct April 8 and two straight wins on that track - the minor Busanda Stakes January 15 and a MSW in December. Lockdown had been a factor in every race before last time out and will be in search of a strong bounce back. She shoots for a fist graded stakes score from the rail Saturday with Jose Ortiz in the irons.

Run and Go 12-1

Will race for the third time for trainer Todd Pletcher looking to remain undefeated. She steps into stakes company for the first time Saturday off an Allowance score at Saratoga August 21 and a maiden score at first asking - at Gulfstream Park in January. Run and Go hasn't been touched so far and hopes to maintain that trend when she leaves from post 9 with John Velazquez scheduled to ride.

Teresa Z 12-1

Anthony Margotta trained filly has three wins, two seconds and two third-place finishes in her 10 career starts. She made her graded stakes debut last time out and posted an impressive win in the G3 Monmouth Oaks August 12 after an Allowance score at Penn National July 8, a third in the minor Light Hearted Stakes at Delaware Park June 15 and consecutive seconds with the last coming at Monmouth Park May 20. Teresa Z has placed in seven straight races ahead of this weekend and hopes to build on a nice two-race win streak from gate 10. Javier Castellano gets the call.

Thirstforthecup 12-1

Todd Pletcher trained filly has 12 career starts with four wins, two seconds and three third-place finishes. She makes her stakes graded debut Saturday on a two-race win streak - both Allowance Optional Claiming with the last coming at Saratoga September 3. She placed in three of her previous four starts as well - all Allowance races. Thirstforthecup steps up in career best form and will have John Velazquez in the saddle from gate 6.

Stay Fond 12-1

Has seven career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher with one win, one second and a third-place finish. Last time out was a fourth in an Allowance at Saratoga September 3 after a second in a similar race on that track July 31, an eighth in an Allowance at Monmouth Park July second and consecutive fourths including her only stakes action to date - the G2 Gazelle Stakes at Aqueduct in April. Run and Go has been inconsistent to say the least and will be looking for a breakthrough win Saturday from post 7. John Velazquez rides.

Sine Wave 20-1

Has placed in five of six career starts for trainer Benjamin W. Perkins Jr. - three wins and two second-place finishes. She arrives off an OK second behind Teresa Z in the G3 Monmouth Oaks August 12 after an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Penn National July 12, a seventh in the minor Alma North Stakes at Laurel Park June 17 and a second in his only other graded stakes action - the G3 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland April 9. She won her first two career starts as well. Sine Wave has been competitive so far but has yet to post a stakes score. Jockey Robby Albarado has been tabbed with changing all of that from gate 8.

Proud and Fearless 20-1

Has placed in five of eight career starts for trainer Larry Jones - three wins and two third-place finishes. Last time out was an uncharacteristic sixth in the G3 Monmouth Oaks August 12 which followed a good runner-up finish in the G3 Delaware Oaks July 8 and a three-race win streak including two Allowance Optional Claiming races. Proud and Fearless was impressive before last time out and hopes to rediscover that form from post 3 with Brian Pedroza guiding her.

Mopotism 20-1

Doug O'Neill trained filly has 11 career starts with two wins, four runner-ups and one third place finish to show for it. She broke maiden by 4 1/4 lengths at Santa Anita December 30 and has been up and down in five starts since - a seventh last time out in the G1 Alabama Stakes at Saratoga August 19 followed a second in the G3 Indiana Oaks July 15 at Indiana Grand, another second in the G2 Summertime Oaks at Santa Anita June 17, a disappointing tenth in the G1 Kentucky Oaks May 5 and a fourth in the G1 Santa Anita Oaks April 8. Before that was a nice gate-to-wire win in the minor Island Fashion Stakes at Sunland Park February 26 and a decent second behind Unique Bella in the G2 Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita February 5. Mopotism has been in the mix more often than not and will be out to snap a five-race losing streak from post 5 with Mario Gutierrez aboard.
