Trainer Bill Mott (Long on Value): “We wanted him to drop the bridle and relax the first part. We were hoping to save some ground. We had a horrible post in the 11 hole. He was able to drop in. He was maybe two or three-wide around the first turn. It didn’t turn out as bad as it could have from that post.â€
(On last start) “He was rank. He was outside and saw a lot of daylight. He was rank for the first part of the race. If he’s rank and jumps into the bridle early, he just doesn’t finish.â€
Jockey Joel Rosario (Long On Value): "I had a good trip. I broke, and Bill [Mott] told me to drop him and take a little bit of time with him and just come for a late run. In the beginning of the race, that's exactly where I was. He made a little move early, but he kind of just pulled and that's what he wanted to do. I just saved him a little more for the finish, and he finished well. He's a nice horse."
