Championship Meet to Introduce Rolling $1 Super Hi-5
Early 50-cent Pick 5 Added to Innovative Wagering Menu
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Gulfstream Park will usher in the 2015-2016 Championship Meet Saturday with a pair of new options on its ever-evolving wagering menu.
The Rolling $1 Super Hi-5 will be offered for every race, challenging the bettors to select the first five finishers in exact order in order to cash. If there are multiple-winning tickets the pool will be paid out. If no one holds a ticket with the first five finishers, the entire pool will be carried over to the next race.
“We continue to try new wagers to interest all levels of bettors. Some of these new wagers we’ve introduced have been successful and others have not. The one thing we don’t want to do is become complacent in a highly competitive market. We want to continue to challenge ourselves to create innovative wagers and enrich our customers’ experience,” said P.J. Campo, Gulfstream Park General Manager and Vice President of Racing for The Stronach Group. “Like all our wagers, we will continue to monitor and evaluate interest in participation in the wager.”
In addition to the Rolling $1 Super Hi-5, the Early 50-Cent Pick 5 (Races 1-5) will be added to the wagering menu, which will also include the Late 50-Cent Pick 5 (last five races). The Pick 5 wagers require the bettor to buy a ticket with the winners of five races in a row.
The 20-Cent Rainbow 6 will once again be offered on the last six races each day. The popular multi-race wager has produced life-changing payoffs as high a $6.6 million. The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
A pair of 50-cent Pick 4 wagers and multiple $1 Bet 3 opportunities will offered on every card, in addition to win, place, show, exacta, trifecta and superfecta wagers.
