Rosemary Homeister, jockey of winner Include Betty: “This is an amazing little filly. I was in the 11 hole, but I wasn’t all that concerned because she is a closer. I had so much horse down the backstretch, which is unusual for her because she likes to drop way out. I decide to go wide into the stretch and Joe (Rocco Jr.) and I did start going at it around the turn. I was trying to keep him in because I knew he was on one of the horses (Achiever’s Legacy) to beat. Down the late it was just race riding. I just had so much horse. She really dug in to win the race.”

Ramon Vazquez, jockey of runner-up Oceanwave: “She got in trouble at the quarter pole a little bit, if I had a clean trip this filly would have won. She tried and ran a great race for me. She’s a nice filly with a great future.”

Joe Rocco Jr., jockey of third-place finisher Achiever’s Legacy: “I was worried that Rosemary (Homeitser, Jr. on eventual winner Include Betty) was going to get the jump on me cause she moved so drastically on the turn, but my filly jumped back so she wasn’t able to. She starts bumping me at the coming down the lane and by the time we hit the wire I was all the way down on the rail. That’s why I put a hold on the race cause I really think it affected my filly’s run.”

Wayne Catalano, trainer of runner-up Oceanwave: "She ran huge. The only thing I didn't like around the turn is the one that passed me [Include Betty]. I didn't like that part, but I thought she ran great."

Richard Robertson, co-owner of third-place finisher Achiever's Legacy: "She ran her eyeballs out. If she's outside of them, she's going to win the race. She belonged."

Statement from State Steward Stan Bowker on the objection: “There was contact initiated by the 11 (Include Betty), but we believed it did not warrant disqualification because neither rider had to steady, check or stop riding.”
