SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has announced that it will offer at least a $500,000 Guaranteed Late Pick 4 on Saturdays at Saratoga Race Course, with increased guarantees on Travers Day (August 29, $1 million), Whitney Day (August 8, $750,000) and Woodward Day (September 5, $750,000).

Although NYRA offers daily Pick 4's on races 2 - 5 and the final four races of the day, the $500,000 guarantee applies only to the Late Pick 4 on Saturdays at Saratoga Race Course. The Late Pick 4 is a 50 cent minimum wager in which the bettor must correctly pick the winners of the last four races on the card, usually beginning with race eight.

Additionally:

• On Whitney Day, August 8, a $400,000 guaranteed Pick 5 will begin in race 1 and a $250,000 guaranteed Pick 6 will begin in race 6. The Pick 4 will begin in race 8, with a guarantee of $750,000 in conjunction with the running of the prestigious Grade 1, $1.25 million Whitney Handicap. The Whitney is supported by Grade 1, $500,000 Test for 3-year-old fillies atop the festival card.

• On Travers Day, August 29, a $400,000 guaranteed Pick 5 will begin in race 1 and a $250,000 guaranteed Pick 6 in race 6. The Pick 4 will begin in race 8, with a guarantee of $1 million in conjunction with the 145th running of the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers Stakes. The Mid-Summer Derby for 3-year-olds is supported by several Grade 1's, including the $1 million, 1 ½-mile Sword Dancer Invitational on the turf.

• On Saturday September 5, the Pick 4 will begin in race 9, with a guarantee of $750,000 in conjunction with the running of the Grade 1, $600,000 Woodward. The Woodward is supported by the Grade 1, $350,000 Spinaway for 2-year-old fillies atop the day's card.

By guaranteeing the wagers, NYRA will supplement the difference of the gross pool minimums if either pool is less than the advertised amount.
