Six-race Sequence Includes $60,000 King Cugat Handicap
HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – Saturday’s 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot pool will be guaranteed at $350,000 at Gulfstream Park.
The popular multi-race wager went unsolved Friday for the 18th consecutive program since May 22, when a mandatory payout was held.
Multiple tickets with the 2-8-1-4-4-1 combination, spanning Races 4-9, were each worth $655.84
The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.
Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 5-10, including the $60,000 King Cugat Handicap that has been carded as the ninth race. Phil Gleaves-trained Rizwan, the winner of four of his last six starts, is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field of 10 3-year-olds assembled for the 1 1/16-mile turf event that is carded as Race 9.
The $60,000 Barely Even Handicap will be contested by fillies and mares in Race 3. Grade 1 stakes-placed Little Alexis is slated to face six rivals, including the Marty Wolfson-trained quartet of Phaniebdancing, Best Behavior, Lemon Lashes and Quiet Hour.
