Gulfstream: Saturday’s Rainbow 6 Carryover Guaranteed at $300,000

December 10, 2019

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL – There will be a guaranteed jackpot pool in the Rainbow 6 in the amount of $300,000 for Saturday’s 10-race card at Gulfstream Park, the result of the 20-cent wager going unsolved for the 14th consecutive program.

There were 203 live tickets heading into the final leg of the popular multi-race wager Friday afternoon, but there were no singles. Instead, multiple ticketholders cashed in on $1,850.70 for correctly selecting the winners of the day’s final six races. The winning sequence was 5-5-5-7-6-4, with Herman Wilensky’s Valid Concept ($19.20) adding the most value to the ticket when rallying from off the pace to nab Old Times Sake at the wire in Race 7.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

The Rainbow 6 was last hit on May 22, when a $1.09 million mandatory payout resulted in multiple winning tickets worth $36,652.54. It was last hit outright on May 2, when one horseplayer cashed in on $39,320.72 after the wager went unsolved for four racing programs.

The Rainbow 6 carryover stood at $133,999.75 heading into Friday’s eight-race card. It will span the fifth through tenth races Saturday.

There will also be a carryover in Saturday’s Super Hi-5 of $4,313.61.
