Sire Stakes Highlights Gulfstream's Summer Closing Mandatory Payouts on Rainbow 6, Pick 5 and Super Hi 5

Wednesday Card at Gulfstream Park West Draws 123 Entries

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Gulfstream Park's summer meet comes to a close Saturday afternoon with a 12-race program highlighted by the finals of the $1.4 million Florida Sire Stakes.

Jacks or Better Farm and trainer Stanley Gold look to add to their record totals in the Sire Stakes with four horses entered in the $350,000 In Reality Division of the Sire Stakes and two in the $350,000 My Dear Girl Division. Both races will be contested at 1 1/16 mile.

Twotwentyfive A, an undefeated son of Awesome of Course bred by Jacks or Better and trained by Gold, is the 3-1 favorite in the In Reality off his victory in the seven-furlong Susan's Girl. In the $350,000 My Dear Girl, Jacks or Better and Gold will send out the 5-2 favorite in Leap Year Luck.

Gulfstream's 12 races also include the $75,000 Armed Forces for 2-year-olds at a mile on the turf and $75,000 Our Dear Peggy for 2-year-old fillies at a mile on the turf.

Gulfstream's closing day will also feature mandatory payouts on the 20-cent Rainbow 6, 50-cent Pick 5 and $1 Super Hi 5. First race post Saturday is 1:05 p.m.

Wednesday Card at Gulfstream Park West Draws 123 Entries

Entries were drawn Friday for Wednesday's opening day at Gulfstream Park West. The 10-race program drew 123 entries. The feature, a $40,000 allowance optional claimer at 6 1/2 furlongs, drew stakes-placed Red Minx, Quinnkat and Yes Liz.

Gulfstream Park West hosts the inaugural Fall Turf Festival beginning Wednesday through Nov. 30. Post time is 1:05 p.m. Gulfstream Park West is located eight miles west of Gulfstream Park at Calder Race Course. The first floor will be open to the public as well as the concession stand overlooking the paddock. Simulcast wagering will end at Gulfstream Park West after the last race at Santa Anita.

Gulfstream Park will remain open for simulcast wagering throughout the Fall Turf Festival.

Who's Hot: Jockey Jesus Rios had back-to-back wins with Secret Fascination ($15.80) in the seventh and Danessa Deluxe ($3.60) in the eighth. Jockey Orlando Bocachica won two races aboard Look of a Star ($3.80) in the third and Sea Hunt ($13.80) in the ninth.

Note: Jockey Jose Valdivia Jr. took off his mounts due to soreness after being thrown from his horse Decisive Decision during the running of the sixth race.
