Tapit Filly My Favorite Gift Impressive Debut Winner Jockey Jaramillo Enjoys Four-Win Afternoon

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – The 20-cent Rainbow 6 went unsolved for the 17th consecutive program Wednesday, growing the carryover jackpot to $113,131.66 for Thursday’s eight-race program.

First race post time is 1:15 p.m.

Only one horse, 40-1 long shot African Chief, was live to take down the jackpot heading into Wednesday’s eighth-race finale, won by 5-2 favorite Flemish Cap ($7). Multiple tickets with all six winners each returned $3,858.32.

The Rainbow 6 carryover jackpot is paid out only when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket sold, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those betters holding tickets with the most winners while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Grupo 7C Racing Stable’s My Favorite Gift, trained by Gustavo Delgado, was an impressive winner of her unveiling in Wednesday’s seventh race, a $50,000 maiden special weight for 2-year-old fillies originally carded for the turf. The chestnut daughter of Grade 1 winner Tapit completed 1 1/16 miles in 1:48.58 over a sloppy main track.

My Favorite Gift ($7.20) was the third win of the day for jockey Emisael Jaramillo, following Break Away ($4) in the first race and Working Carol K ($9.20) in the sixth and capped by Flemish Cap in the eighth.
