Dare to Dream Stable’s Concord Jet went wire to wire in the nightcap at Del Mar Thursday and gave one racing fan a $218,929 payday for holding the only winning ticket on the track’s Pick Six bet. The large payoff included $155,879 from the track’s Pick Six Jackpot pool, which was added to the regular Pick Six total because of the lone ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased on-track at Del Mar and cost $1,536.
Brian Koriner trained the winner and Alonso Quinonez rode him in the five and one-half furlong dash. It was the rider’s first victory of the 13-day-old meet.
The Pick Six sequence unfolded like this: Race 3 -- #2 Incensed ($28.00); Race 4 -- #6 Lil Milo ($11.20); Race 5 -- #10 Offshore Affair ($4.40); Race 6 -- #5 Goodwillambassador ($12.60); Race 7 -- #12 Comma Sister ($11.60), and Race 8 -- #2 Concord Jet ($11.00).
Racing resumes at the shore oval Friday with first post at 12:30 p.m.
