2017 Royal Delta Stakes Entries at Gulfstream Park

Eskenformoney - has 20 career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher with four wins, five seconds and three third place finishes. She has been decent lately - a career-best effort last time out - a win in the G3 Rampart Stakes on this track December 17 followed a third in the G3 Turnback the Alarm Handicap at Belmont Park October 29, a fourth in the minor Summer Colony Stakes at Saratoga August 22, a respectable second in the G3 Molly Pitcher Stakes at Monmouth Park July 31, a third in the minor Lady's Secret Stakes on that track July 4 and an Allowance Optional Claiming score here in May. Other graded stakes results all came in 2015 - a fourth in the G1 Cotillion, a decent second in the G3 Monmouth Oaks, a fifth in the G1 Mother Goose, a tenth in the G1 Kentucky Oaks , a second in the G2 Gulfstream Park Oaks and a third in the G2 Devona Dale Stakes. She looks for her second straight graded stakes score on a track she's finished third or better in five starts - with Javier Castellano in the irons from post 5.

Curlin's Approval - has four wins and a second place finish in her seven career starts for trainer Martin Wolfson - her first four races came on this track. She made her graded stakes debut three starts back and finished an OK fourth in the G2 Raven Run Stakes at Keeneland October 22 and followed that with a respectable second behind Eskenformoney in the G3 Rampart Stakes on this track December 17. Last time out she posted a career-best effort - a dominant 2 1/2 length win in the G3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes on this track January 28. She also had a good two race win streak in the summer - the minor Added Elegance Stakes August 28 and an Allowance Optional Claiming July 22. Other results include a fifth in the minor Azalea Stakes July 2 and a maiden score by four lengths at first asking here in June. Verve's Tale - has placed in all nine career starts for trainer Barclay Tagg - two wins, five seconds and two third place finishes. She enters this week on a terrific two race win streak - the G3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct last time out in her stakes debut - November 26 and a MSW at Keeneland in October. Before that were four straight runner-up finishes in MSW races. Verve's Tale has dramatically improved every time out and will be after a third straight win (second straight graded stakes score) with Paco Lopez in the saddle from the rail.

Mo' Green - Joseph Orseno trained filly has placed in six of nine career starts - three wins, two seconds and a third place finish. Last time out was an Allowance Optional Claiming score here January 10 after an OK second in the minor Margate Stakes on this track December 26, a sixth in her only graded stakes action to date - the G3 Monmouth Oaks in August and another Allowance Optional Claiming score - at Monmouth Park in July. Mo' Green searches for her first stakes win Saturday and will have John Velazquez aboard from post 3.

Caboclo Do Rio - Chilean bred Angel Quiroz trained mare has five wins, eight seconds and two third place finishes in 29 career starts. She placed in three of her last four starts at home - the best being a win in October, 2015 but hasn't been great in her five starts in North America. Last time out was a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming here January 19 which followed a fourth in the G3 Rampart Stakes on this track December 17, a fourth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream Park West November 11, a sixth in the minor Panama City Stakes October 1 and an eighth in the minor Added Elegance Stakes August 28 - both on this track. Caboclo do Rio has been underwhelming but hopes to change all of that from gate 2 Saturday. Emisael Jaramillo has been tabbed to ride from the outside gate 6.

Venom Girl - has 33 career starts for trainer Angel Quiroz with seven wins, five seconds and five third place finishes. She makes her stakes debut Saturday on a tidy four race win streak - all Claiming races with the last three coming on this track.
