Oscar Performance has looked great in his last two starts and is expected to be in the mix again Friday. Jose Ortiz will be in the irons of the tepid morning line favorite from post 13.
Good Samaritan 9-2 - legendary trainer Bill Mott sends out Good Samaritan for his third career start. His first resulted in a maiden score at Saratoga August 13 and his second was a very successful graded stakes debut - a win in the G2 Summer Stakes at Woodbine September 10. Intelligence Cross 6-1 - has placed in five of six career starts for trainer Aidan O'Brien - two wins, two seconds and a third place finish. He makes his North American debut Friday off his only off-the-board finish - a fourth in the Group 1 Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket September 24. Before that was a nice win in the Group 3 Round Tower Stakes at Curragh August 28, a third in a Group 2 race July 28 and a second in the Group 2 Arqana July Stakes July 7. Intelligence Cross has participated in some big races in Europe and has fared well. Hopes are that his success overseas translates this weekend from gate 8. Ryan Moore will be in the saddle of the co-third choice.
Lancaster Bomber 6-1 - Aidan O'Brien trained colt has five career starts with a win and a second place finish. He makes his North American debut Friday off a respectable second in the Group 1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket October 8 after a fifth in a Group 1 stakes at Curragh in September and a fourth in a Group 2 on that track in August. Lancaster Bomber has been competitive every time out and hopes for a first Group/Stakes score from the rail. Seamus Heffernan gets the call on the other third betting choice.
Big Score 8-1 - has two wins and a second place finish in his three career starts for Tim Yakteen. He makes his graded stakes debut Friday off a good win in the minor Zuma Beach Stakes here October 10, a second in the minor Del Mar Juvenile Turf Stakes September 3 and a win at first asking - at Del Mar in July. Big Score steps up in good form and hopes to make a little noise from gate 6 with Flavien Prat aboard.
Keep Quiet 12-1 - French bred Mark Casse trained colt failed to place in his first two career starts - a fifth and a sixth respectively at Belmont Park but finally broke through August 6 on that track. He has since stepped up with good success - last time out was a nice win in the G3 Dixiana Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland October 9 and before that was a second ion the G2 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga August 31. Keep Quiet wasn't great to start his career but has looked good in three starts since. He looks to keep that trend going from post 7 Friday with Florent Geroux guiding him from gate 2.
Made You Look 12-1 - highly regarded Todd Pletcher trained colt has two wins and a second place finish in three career starts. He stepped into stakes company August 31 and promptly won the G2 With Anticipation Stakes at Saratoga after a maiden score at Belmont Park June 18 and second in his debut May 27 also at that track. Made You Look has looked very good in the lead-up to this race and looks to make it three straight wins from post 5 Friday. Javier Castellano gets the call.
Favorable Outcome 15-1 - will race for the third time for trainer Chad Brown having posted a nice six length win in his first career start - a six furlong race at Saratoga August 20 and an OK third in his only other action - the G1 Champagne Stakes last time out at Belmont Park October 8. He tries for his first stakes score Saturday and enters in decent form. Irad Ortiz has been tabbed to ride from gate 4.
Wellabled 15-1 - Larry Rivelli trained colt has been impressive in his four race career - three wins and a second place finish. He enters on a two race win streak - the minor Fitz Dixon Jr. Memorial Juvenile Stakes at Presque Isle Downs October 6 and the G3 Arlington-Washington Futurity September 10. Before that was a second in the minor Skidmore Stakes at Saratoga in August and a win at first asking in July. Wellabled has been a factor every time out and chases his biggest win to date from post 9. E.T Baird is scheduled to ride.
Bowies Hero 15-1 - has two wins in three career starts for trainer Phil D'Amato. His wins came in his first two starts - the best of which coming in the minor Del Mar Juvenile Turf September 3 but he stumbled to an eighth last time out in the minor Zuma Beach Stakes on this track October 10. Bowies Hero will be after a strong bounce back Friday when he departs from gate 10 with Julien Leparoux in the irons.
Rodiani 15-1 - Simon Crisford trained colt has won four of his five career starts. He makes his North American debut Friday off his only blemish - a ninth in the Group 3 Dubai 100 Autumn Stakes at Newmarket October 8. Before that was a win in the minor Flying Scottsman Stakes at Doncaster September 9 and three straight wins to start his career. Rodiani has been impressive but will be after a strong bounce back from an uncharacteristic outing when he departs from gate 12 with Lanfranco Dettori guiding him.
Ticonderoga 15-1 - has a win and two second place finishes in three career starts for trainer Chad Brown. Last time out was a decent second in his stakes debut - the G3 Dixiana Bourbon Stakes at Keeneland October 9 after a maiden score at Belmont Park September 10 and a second in his debut August 13. Ticonderoga chases his first stakes win from an unfortunate gate 14 Saturday with Rafael Bejarano aboard.
J. S. Choice 20-1 - has three career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher with a win and a second place finish to show for it.
