The points values jumped from 10-4-2-1 for first to fourth all the way up to 50-20-10-5 as the qualification process moved from "Prep Races" to those in the "Kentucky Derby Championship Series".


Gulfstream's Rainbow 6 Hit For Record $3.5 Million

Gulfstream Park's elusive 10-cent Rainbow 6 was hit Friday afternoon for a record $3,591,245.44. The ticket was purchased at The Meadowlands in New Jersey. The winning ticket cost $3,118.50.


San Carlos Stakes at Santa Anita

Santa Anita in Arcadia, California will be the scene of the Grade 2 San Carlos Stakes this Saturday, February 23. Horses four years old and upward will be after their share of the $200,000 purse when they dash seven furlongs on Santa Anita's dirt track.


Davona Dale Stakes at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida is the scene of a trio of graded stakes races Saturday, February 23 - the first being the Grade 2 Davona Dale Stakes for three year old fillies. $250,000 and some valuable qualifying points on the Road to the Kentucky Oaks is on the line for those willing to go 1 1/16 miles on Gulfstream's main track.


Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park

The Grade 2 Fountain of Youth Stakes comes our way from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida this Saturday, February 23. It is one of the first races in the second phase of the "Road to the Kentucky Derby" in which point levels are raised to 50-20-10-5 respectively for the top four. Besides the points, the three year olds will be after their share of the nice $400,000 purse when they go 1 1/16 miles on Gulfstream's main track.


Canadian Turf Stakes at Gulfstream Park

The Grade 3 Canadian Turf Stakes comes our way this Saturday, February 23 from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale, Florida. Horses four years old and upward will be after their share of the $150,000 purse when they go one mile on Gulfstream's turf track.
