The 138th running of the Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks comes our way this Friday, May 4th as part of one of the biggest weekends in North American horse racing. The Oaks is open to three year old fillies willing to go 1 1/8 miles on Churchill Downs main track. A purse of $1 million is on the line for a superb group of 15 entries, including multiple graded stakes winners, in horses racing's female equivalent to the biggest race of them all - the Kentucky Derby.
The 51st running of the Grade 3 Wilshire Handicap comes our way this Sunday, April 29th from Betfair Hollywood Park. The race is open to fillies and mare three years old and upward willing to go 1 mile on Hollywood Park's turf course.
The Grade 3 San Francisco Mile will be contested this Saturday, April 28th from Golden Gate Fields. Horses four years old and upward will go one mile on Golden Gate's turf course in pursuit of their share of the $150,000 purse.

The 27th running of the Grade 2 Elkhorn Stakes come our way this Friday, April 27th from Keeneland in Kentucky as the feature race on Keeneland's closing day. A purse of $150,000 is on the line for horses four years old and upward willing to go 1 1/2 miles on Keeneland's turf track.
The best horse heading into the Kentucky Derby next month is Bodemeister but to win the Derby and ultimately the Triple Crown, Bodemeister has to buck some serious history.
After a brief hiatus, the horses are back at Santa Anita Park this Sunday April 22nd to close out the winter/spring meet as the 73rd running of the Grade 2 San Juan Capistrano Handicap goes for horses four years old and upward. $150,000 is on the line for horses willing to stretch out to 1 3/4 miles in Santa Anita's turf track.
